Wow! Great question, and really tough to pick just one! Because I am an astronomer I think I have to say telescope, as it showed us that we are not the centre of the Universe and that the Universe was WAY WAY WAY bigger and more exciting than we could ever have imagined!
Other good answers I think would be: the printing press, the first ship capable of crossing vast oceans, computers, the internet, … there are so many. Us humans really are good at inventing things aren’t we? What do you think is the best? Oh and a good question is what do you think is the worst invention? One that we wish nobody ever invented.

I’d have to say flight! The ability for humans to fly (if only in planes) is really amazing and has made the world seem like a tiny place. It’s hard to imagine a world when it’d take weeks or even months to travel places. Most people would never get to visit other countries at all without aeroplanes.

I think the best invention might be the life support machine because it saves so many lives a year. And i think the worst invention might be the gun, because it kills and harms so many people a year. or bombs.
