• Question: did you want to study stars?

      Well, in school I didn’t know what I wanted to do. The only thing I knew leaving school is that I thought physics was interesting. So I did that in University. Thinking about it now I realise I was very lucky as there were no University fees in Ireland at the time so I could afford to go. Unfortunately this is not the case in the UK these days. Well, anyway, when in University I realised that astronomy was fantastic and then I really did want to study stars, and to do it as a job! So I did! And if you want to be an astonomer I advise you to do it because it really is a brilliant job. I supposed I’m biased but you’re probably a bit like I was if you’re interested in this stuff!
