I remember doing a science project on solar panels for my physics A-level. Trying to work out which type was best to store energy and comparing it to glow in the dark materials for providing light.
I think it was in primary school and it was sticking various plants (flowers and celery I recall) into coloured water to see where the water in plants go.
The first things I remember were getting magnets and throwing iron filings at them and seeing that they traced out the pattern of the magnetic field lines, and I thought that was cool! Funny how these days I study pulsars, which are stars that are basically giant magnets! 😉
