• Question: Do you think that the universe is open,closed or flat?

      The current evidence suggests that the Universe is either flat or perhaps slightly open. For now, that is what the evidence suggests. Of course we are always looking for more and more evidence so we can be more sure of things.

      If it were flat it means the Universe will expand forever at the current rate. If it is slightly open then it means the rate of expansion is increasing. So whichever it is they both imply that the Universe will not contract again and end in a “big crunch”. Only the closed Universe scenario has an ending.
