• Question: do you think the world is going to end in 2012

      I personally dont think the world will end in 2012. I mean i am no expert in this field, but predictions about the worlds end has happened many times before and its never happened!
      But i suppose – what will be, will be! – I hope it doesnt end though! we are all too young!!

      No! Definitely not. This question was been asked to me loads in the live chats. And I just want to say again for the record – NO WAY! Actually I made a bet with one of the students in the live chats of ONE MILLION POUNDS that the world would not end in 2012. I will coming to collect my money first thing in January 2013! 😀

      I know they made a movie about it and there are lots of superstitious people who say things like that but there absolutely no reason in the world to think anything like that. I GUARANTEE THAT THE WORLD WILL NOT END IN 2012! And you should believe me, ’cause I’m A Scientist. 😉

      The world will definitely not end in 2012.

      That was a movie based on myths in the Mayan calendar – and what the Mayans were thinking I don’t know – but 2012 to them would have been the distant future. In some respects there is no Mayan culture anymore, so their culture certainly ended before 2012, so maybe for them it was partially correct.

      But our culture and world will not end in 2012.
