  Well there is one star which is keeping us all alive called the Sun. If there was no Sun then the planet would get seriously cold (too cold for us to live), there would be no plant growth and if trees die then they will not be able to process the CO2 we breath out into oxygen which we breath in. Then we would breath up all our oxygen and die. Oh ya and no plant growth means you couldn’t grow sugar cane or beat and then you could not make sweets! So without the Sun things would be pretty bad in that we would all die. So surely you agree that there is at least one star which is more important than sweets?!
  
  And of course being an astronomer and eating sweets are not mutually exclusive! I eat sweets! 😀
