• Question: In what ways do you use the dynamics of sea animals in your submarines?

      My submarines all have some form of fin or wing on them, to drive them forwards, rather than a propeller. I study animal swimming dynamics to learn how best to move the fin or wings to be as efficient as possible.

      The idea is, these animals have had millions of years to get it right, so better to copy them than to try and work it out all on my own!
