Making discoveries (no matter how small!), solving problems and developing things which no one else ever has!

I’m still not really sure what I want to do in the future. I really enjoy what I’m researching at the moment but that won’t last forever! I would really like to work for the ESA (European Space Agency), I doubt I’d ever get to go into space but maybe one day a robot I designed would be sent to Titan or Io.

Finding things! That every day is different. That it is fun, and not a “boring job”. 😀

The fact that you never really know what you are going to be doing next – you don’t always know in which direction the science is going to lead you. It makes it exciting 🙂

In the future I would like to be a university lecturer, running my own research group and teaching undergraduates biochemistry. These jobs are becoming very rare though, so I will have to see if this is possible.
