• Question: What is it that causes a stitch when you have been running a long distence and for a long time???

      I find I usually get a stitch after a very short time of running, rather than a long time, and normally if I run too soon after eating. Not sure what causes it, I think it’s something to do with the muscles around your digestive system.

      It’s kind of interesting that nobody really knows!! But there are ideas, mostly about organs hitting together, or changing in size slightly as blood moves around when you start exercising. Stitches usually happen on your right side, which is where your liver is (mostly) so it might have something to do with that.
