I’m actually quite happy with my current job fortunately! I think my dream job might involve some more travelling and meeting people from different cultures. I’d still work on controlling diseases. Working for the World Health Organisation would be pretty cool – but I’d be away from my family and friends which would be difficult.
I think I almost have my dream job. Being an astronomer is the best, but I wish I could pick exactly where I wanted to live. That isn’t always possible as sometimes governments decide they are going to cut science funding (bad idea!) and then there are less jobs for people like me. This is why I left had to leave the UK this year and now work in Germany.
If I were to do a different job I would either work as a high school teacher or maybe for some kind of technology company like Google making astronomy apps for the masses! 🙂
Once I finish my current research it would be really great to work for the European Space Agency. They have a group of people who develop all kinds of things for space using “biomimetics”. Biomimetics is copying nature to solve scientific or engineering problems, like copying trees to make really strong buildings or grass hoppers to make jumping robots!
