• Question: whats the best bit about being scientist?

      In my eyes, i think the best thing about being a scientist is that every day is different, you are constantly learning and discovering new things.. its not a 9 to 5 job sat at a computer each day…. and the best thing is you are making a contribution to life itself.

      Yep – finding out new things that we didn’t know before…it might not be quite like discovering penicillin or how to power a light bulb, but each small step is still really rewarding :o}

      Like James and Kath have said, making discoveries is a really awesome feeling. It’s also quite fun being able to tell people that you’re a scientist!

      And I would add that the variety is great – everyday is a little different and you never know what you are going to find out.

      I agree with Ryan as well – telling people you are a scientist can be pretty cool, although sometimes, they just assume they won’t understand what you are going to say, which is very frustrating! Clearly these people had never participated in “I’m a Scientist” 🙂
