I presume you mean a medical doctor and not the PhD type of doctors some of us scientists are?

For your GCSE’s you need to make sure you are doing all the science you can it will also be very important for you to do well in Maths and English GCSEs. After that you need to choose science A-levels, most medical courses say you must have chemistry and a lot also require biology. Then apply for med school and away you go!

Hope that helps and good luck 🙂

What kind of doctor do you want to be? It depends. If it is medicine then you should definitely do biology and chemistry for A-levels.

I would agree with the other scientists. Science GCSEs are important. Then you would want to do both biology and chemistry. At University you can do a medical degree straight away, but there are also graduate medical degrees if you want to do another sort of degree beforehand. Its a lot of training!

I’m not sure what options you have in year nine but biology is definitely essential if you want to be a medical doctor.

Though it’s also possible to be a doctor of music, English, politics or just about anything you can think of!
