I’m a biochemist working in a university research lab. Biochemistry is a pretty massive subject, so the type of biochemistry I do is known as structural biology, this means that I look at the atomic structure of proteins to figure how they work. It’s an interesting area of biochemistry as I need to know the biology of the protein I’m studying, the chemistry of what’s going on and I use physics to calculate the structure. So in my mind structural biology is the most central of all sciences as it uses bits of all the sciences you do in school!
It’s pretty exciting and pretty difficult but I still love doing it.

I am an astrophysicist. Or astronomer. They’re basically the same thing. So ask me any questions you have about planets, stars, space, etc. and I’ll be happy to answer them 🙂

I’m classed as a Food Scientist or Food Technologist –
its near enough the same role, whereas the difference between a scientist and a technologist is that a scientist tries to understand how and why things work, and a technologist tries to understand how to use technology to make the science work. Such as working out new machinery to process and make the product the scientist has created.
As Evan has said…. you can also ask me anything and i i’ll be happy to try and help you

I’m actually an engineer. Normally people wouldn’t think of engineering as science but I hope I can prove them wrong! One definition of “scientist” is someone who uses the scientific method – basically someone who uses experiments to find out new things!
