• Question: why is it that everybody has reactions to different things such different foods like peauts and strawberries?

      It’s the same reason I gave in my answer to your penicillin allergy question http://ias.im/44.234

      A peanut and a strawberry are much larger than penicillin, but when they are broken down they both contain proteins and it is these proteins that the immune system reacts too. It’s the same mechanism as the penicillin allergy.

      You can only get food allergies to a few types of food, a lot of people say they have an allergy when really they are just intolerant to the food, they may get stomach ache or headaches but they don’t have a immune response.
