Question: why is the place that earth is in called the Goldilocks zone

If a planet is too close to its star then it will be very hot and there will be no water as it will all boil away (like Mercury). If a planet is too far away from its star then it will be icy (like Neptune or Uranus). But if the planet is at the right distance, the temperature will be “just right” for water, and then you can have life. It is called the goldilocks zone because her porridge had to be “just right”, not too cold and not too hot, before she would eat it! Earth is in the goldilocks zone of the Sun which is why we can live. When astronomers find planets orbiting different stars people always check to see if it is in the goldilocks zone, because then there is a chance that there is life!!
